Hermit Crab Press is a small, family publishing house, founded by Paul and Navjyoat Kingsnorth in 2026. Based in the west of Ireland, we exist to publish books, pamphlets and other awkwardly non-commercial creations by Paul Kingsnorth, and potentially other writers in future.

We are tired of the virtual, the digital and the artificial. We want to spend our time instead making beautiful physical books, which give pleasure to all the human senses. We love real books. We make books that you might love too.

Hermit Crab Press receives no external funding: we survive on book sales and the kindness of strangers. If you'd like to support our work, you can be assured that anything you donate will go towards keeping the press going, publishing more books, and keeping words connected to reality.
