Heretic Frequency began as a heavy metal radio show on community station Phoenix FM in Bendigo, VIC. What started as a generalised metal program quickly evolved into a full-blown passion project focused on showcasing and supporting Australia’s independent heavy music scene.
Driven by a love for the local scene, Heretic Frequency expanded beyond airplay into gig bookings and event promotion. We've hosted shows for bands from all over Australia, including, but not limited to, Alienist (Syd), Witchgrinder (Melb), War Bear (Bris), and Whisperhead (Dubbo) and for two years running have hosted a hugely successful festival, TIC’d OFF, right here in Bendigo.
While Heretic Frequency is based in Bendigo, the reach is growing. We’ve also started running shows in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat and of course, continue bringing heavy music back to the Bendigo faithful.
Behind all of this is just one person - me, Ezz Eddy. I’ve been part of the Bendigo music scene for over 20 years, and I’m deeply passionate about building something strong, sustainable, and community-driven for heavy music lovers. I do this purely for the love of the scene - no paywalls, no promotion fees, just metal from the heart.
But putting on shows isn’t cheap, and mostly it comes out of my own pocket.
