Some plants feed the body.

Some plants nourish the spirit.

Bee Balm does both while feeding an entire world beyond our own.

Its brilliant red, pink, lavender, or purple blossoms are alive with bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and countless pollinators. To stand beside a blooming patch of Bee Balm is to witness a living celebration of abundance.

This is a plant that reminds us that healing is never meant to be solitary.

When Bee Balm thrives, everyone gathers.

🌱 Herbal Wisdom

Bee Balm has been treasured for generations by Indigenous peoples of North America and later embraced by Western herbalists. The fragrant leaves and flowering tops have traditionally been used to support healthy digestion, soothe occasional colds, encourage perspiration during fevers, and calm nervous tension.

Rich in aromatic oils, Bee Balm makes a wonderfully uplifting tea with notes of citrus, mint, and oregano.

The medicinal portions harvested are the leaves and flowering tops, gathered just as the flowers reach full bloom on a dry morning after the dew has disappeared.

The fresher the harvest, the richer the fragrance.

🍵 Bee Balm Tea

Ingredients:

• 1–2 teaspoons dried Bee Balm leaves and flowers

• 8 ounces hot water

• Optional: honey and a slice of fresh lemon

Directions:

1. Place the dried herb into a tea infuser or mug.

2. Pour hot water over the herbs.

3. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.

4. Strain and enjoy warm.

Its bright, citrusy aroma makes it a wonderful companion during cold weather or whenever the spirit needs lifting.

🌿 Bee Balm Infused Honey

Ingredients:

• Fresh Bee Balm flowers and leaves (wilted for several hours) or fully dried herb

• Raw local honey

• Clean glass jar

Directions:

1. Fill a clean jar about halfway with the herb.

2. Cover completely with honey.

3. Stir gently to remove trapped air.

4. Seal and allow to infuse for 2–4 weeks.

5. Strain if desired.

Drizzle into tea or enjoy by the spoonful as a delicious way to appreciate this aromatic ally.

⚠️ A Note of Care

Bee Balm is generally considered a gentle culinary herb, but anyone with allergies to plants in the mint family (Lamiaceae), who is pregnant or breastfeeding, or who has medical conditions or takes prescription medications should consult a qualified healthcare professional before using it medicinally.

Always harvest from unsprayed plants growing in clean locations.

✨ Folklore & Magic

Bee Balm has long been associated with joy, friendship, community, healing, and attracting blessings.

Its blossoms invite pollinators from every direction, making it a symbol of cooperation and shared abundance. Rather than competing for attention, Bee Balm creates a gathering place where everyone benefits.

In magical traditions, Bee Balm may be worked with for:

🐝 Community and friendship

❤️ Joy and emotional warmth

🌿 Healing relationships

✨ Prosperity through cooperation

🌸 Attracting beneficial energies

It teaches that generosity creates its own magic.

🌕 A Simple Working

Place a few fresh Bee Balm flowers in a small bowl on your altar or table.

Light a yellow candle and say:

Flower bright with fragrant grace,

Bring kind hearts into this place.

Bee and blossom, friend and tree,

May all good things gather to me.

Spend a few moments reflecting on the people who have helped you grow.

Then ask:

How can I become the kind of person others feel welcomed by?

🌿 Whisper of the Plant

“Do not bloom for yourself alone. Open your flowers wide enough that others may find nourishment there. The richest gardens are those filled with visitors.”

🌿 Herbal Ally Way™ Reflection

Bee Balm reminds us that the healthiest gardens are alive with relationships.

A single flower can feed a bee.

A bee can pollinate a hundred blossoms.

A hundred blossoms can feed countless lives.

Healing works the same way.

Every kindness ripples outward.

Every act of generosity plants another seed.

Like Bee Balm, may we become places where life gathers, friendships deepen, and the world leaves just a little healthier than it found us.
