Happy Halloween, everyone!
As October comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to share an update with everyone who has been following my kidney transplant journey.
First, some wonderful news: Together, we've raised $7,033 toward my $20,000 fundraising goal!
I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to everyone who has contributed, shared my story, sent prayers, or simply checked in to see how I'm doing. You've helped me through some incredibly difficult moments, and I never take your kindness for granted.
My Transplant Journey Is Moving Forward
After six years of living on dialysis, my transplant preparations are finally progressing. My transplant surgery number has been assigned, and I'm now spending much of my time travelling between hospitals, attending appointments, and completing the medical tests required by my transplant team.
It's been an exhausting journey, especially with my recent Hepatitis C diagnosis and the treatment that followed. Emotionally and financially, these past few months have tested me in ways I never anticipated.
But I'm still moving forward. And every step brings me closer to the possibility of a life beyond dialysis.
The Financial Challenge Ahead
While I'm grateful for the progress we've made, the financial reality remains difficult.
Hepatitis C treatment, repeated medical investigations, hospital visits, transportation, transplant preparations, and eventual recovery expenses are putting considerable pressure on my family's finances.
My biggest wish is to enter transplantation with some financial security, knowing that I can concentrate on healing rather than constantly worrying about how to afford the next expense.
That's why your continued support matters so much.
Can We Reach $10,000 by Thanksgiving?
As we enter November, I'd love to set a new milestone for our community.
Our current total is $7,033. Our next target is $10,000 by Thanksgiving!
That means we need another $2,967.
