🎉 Today, as I turn 62 🎉 I'm reflecting on the power of setting and pursuing dreams. Back in 2007, weighing heavy not just in body but in spirit, I asked myself a pivotal question: "What is my purpose on this fleeting visit to planet Earth?"
This sparked a transformation. I traded my addiction to food for writing and running. I set out five audacious goals:
1. Lose -25kg – I lost -30.5kg.
2. Return to peak sales performance – I became Finland's best phone salesperson in 2011.
3. Write a book – "INSPIRE ME" was born, in Finnish and English.
4. Run a marathon – Achieved at 50.
5. Build an eco-sustainable holiday village in Spain – Still a dream in progress.
Each goal steered me back to a path of personal growth as a red beret paratrooper. My runs became meditative, sparking creativity and resilience as I trained, culminating in 3,000km over four years. After completing my first marathon, my wife's words, "You can be proud of yourself," unleashed a flood of emotions. A journey from illness to marathoner in just four years.
My final goal, the eco-village, remote work heaven remains in the works, now scaled to a smaller proof-of-concept pilot project. It's a dream that continues to evolve, much like life itself.
In Hokkaido, Japan, people often live to be 100, driven by a philosophy that one's life mission never retires, it only transforms as long as you're alive.
I share this story to tell you that it's never too late to chase your dreams. They are the engines of our lives, propelling us forward, bringing purpose and vitality. So here's to dreaming, to achieving, and to the belief that the best is always ahead. 💪✨
Today 24th of Jan, I celebrate my 62th birthday by giving a presentation to my inventor friends at Club A.Vipunen on leveraging artificial intelligence in the commercialization of inventions.
