A proposito di Tom Greenhill
Heatwave Toolkit is a practical, creative project designed to help people in the UK stay cool in dangerously hot weather - without relying on air conditioning.
It’s a growing collection of low-cost, rapidly-deployable ideas: from yoghurt-coated windows to DIY shading screens, all tested and shared online. Some of our tips are playful, some serious - but all aim to be useful, especially for those most at risk from heat.
We’ve been featured by the BBC World Service, Dezeen, and even the British Red Cross, and we’re currently partnering with Loughborough University to test and refine one of our most popular ideas- yoghurt-coated glazing.
Your support helps us:
-Run community trials in London with artists and residents
-Research low-tech cooling materials
-Share free tools and resources on heatwavetoolkit.com
-Champion climate adaptation for those who need it most
If you like what we’re doing, you can help keep it going. Every coffee helps us do more!
