Hello Divine Starlights,
As we arrive at the Equinox, we can acknowledge the changes that are easy to recognize. The season changes. Day and night move into another relationship with one another. Another birthday comes around. Another cycle begins. Time becomes one way that we measure change.
But we are also a measure of change.
Who are you today compared with who you were at the beginning of summer? What happened in your life over these past three months that made you think differently, see the world differently, respond differently, or understand yourself differently? And if you go back to the beginning of spring, who were you then?
As we enter the season of harvest, we can reflect on what has grown and what we are ready to gather, but even within the harvest there are seeds. Which seeds do you want to continue planting forward, and which ones are complete?
Being with change asks us to acknowledge our own growth, including the changes that are still unfolding. We do not always have to know where something is going or what the end result will be. Sometimes we are simply in that liminal space where we can say, I'm not there yet, but I know I'm in the process.
On this Equinox, perhaps that is enough. Allow yourself to recognize who you have become, what you are harvesting from this season, and what you are ready to carry forward into the next.
This is a bit of what was shared last night during our virtual circle.

During the circle, I pulled three cards from Kim Krans' The Wild Unknown Alchemy Deck: Chiron, Lead, and Conjunction. I hadn't worked with this deck in a while, and when I was thinking about which deck I wanted to bring into the circle, this was the one that came through.
What became interesting to me was the question I had asked: What do we need to alchemize so that we can be with change? The order of the cards pulled was Conjunction, Lead and Chiron. During the virtual circle I read them in reverse order. The wound, the heaviness and then conjunction or integration.
The first of the three cards was Chiron, and Chiron brings us into relationship with the wound. One of the things I appreciated in the guidebook's reflection on Chiron was this idea that our painful experiences can become a resource when we are willing to observe them slowly, gently, and with support.
Then we move from Chiron into Lead.
When we think about alchemy, we've probably heard the phrase “turning lead into gold.” Lead is heavy. It is dense. And in the alchemical tradition, it represents something that can feel fixed or burdensome while also containing the potential for transformation.
I found that really interesting for this particular conversation because we're talking about change. We're talking about those things that feel heavy. And maybe there is something about that heaviness that we're not supposed to ignore. Maybe there is intelligence there that we haven't understood yet.
Then the third card was Conjunction, which brings us into love and into the meeting of what may initially seem like opposites. The guidebook describes this alchemical process as something that doesn't require one side to disappear in order for the other side to exist. Through the meeting, something else can be created.
And there was one idea from that card that stayed with me: love is creative, and therefore it seeks new forms.
