In the Human Design knowledge base, triggering and encounter refer to two distinct phases in contacting metaphysical realms. Understanding their differences is key to awakening consciousness.
What is Triggering?
Triggering prepares the body for potential mystical contact through altering your biochemistry. Much like sensitizing film to light, triggering adjusts your nervous system to detect subtle energies. This chemical shift grabs your attention suddenly through the senses, often in disturbing or dramatic ways.
Certain tribal energy centers and circuitry in your body provide triggering. For example, your sexuality center may trigger intense instinctual openings. Or your self-defense circuit can trigger fight-or-flight responses. It’s mechanical - when certain channels interact, specific chemical reactions result.
Shamans and indigenous cultures understood triggering. Ritual practices like fasting, dancing to exhaustion, or ingesting psychedelics trigger radical biochemical changes. Without proper precautions, triggering can be deeply destabilizing.
Triggering operates through binary poles. Like a fulcrum switching tracks, it flips you from one extreme to another. From communalist to hermit. From theist to atheist. This shift provides just a glimpse though before the chemicals normalize.
Activating Encounter
Triggering alone won’t maintain transformation. It must be followed by an encounter to permanently realign your motivation. Encounter happens when a metaphysical bundle - an angel, demon, or other energy - directly interfaces with your aura.
This “download” from the spiritual realm must find you in precisely the right biochemical state from triggering. Without that prior sensitization, the encounter goes unseen. Proper triggering provides the fetal-like medium required to receive wisdom.
Encounters permanently rewrite motivations and unlock your potential. A true encounter fixes your color frequency rather than briefly altering chemistry like triggering does. This liberates your purpose from not-self distortions.
While the six types of bundles - angels, ghosts, gods, etc. - can all provide encounter, only angels, demons and ghosts can trigger. The upper realms offer wisdom once you're prepared, but cannot initially jolt you from slumber like the lower realms.
Awaken Your Potential
Together, triggering and encounter provide a portal into hidden dimensions of meaning. This mystical process awakens your true gifts. But its power depends on your consciousness. In distortion, encounters derail into confusion or obsession. Only with clarity do they expand your sovereign purpose.
This ancient technology provides a roadmap to enlightenment. But it requires greatly valuing your design, honoring your nature, and relinquishing mind as authority. From that state of surrender, your journey becomes guided from within rather than grasped from without.
