The Hidden Enemy: How Contracts Sabotage Your Inner Authority

So, after spending 17 years immersed in the Human Design system, I've come to realize that deconditioning varies significantly depending on the conditions of our lives, so to speak. There's a myriad of factors involved in this, and I'll do my best to unpack them. As Ra said, when it comes to strategy, authority, and deconditioning, it's different for each person because we all have our own lives that we have built and set up prior to entering into this experiment.

Some decisions based on one’s inner authority could completely go against the lifestyle we've built, because those prior decisions were based on something external—someone else's authority, false or misleading information, and even the terms of most contracts. In a sense, we are all slaves to the contracts we enter into, especially generators who are not consistent with giving the terms for the use of their energy.

This ties into the Cross of Planning, which is defined by the 40th Gate and the 37th Gate, forming the Channel of Community or Contracts. A significant part of this cycle involves contracts, skillful contract writing, and the small print, or hidden terms. The pen, being mightier than the sword, signifies that contracts can condition and move people more effectively than physical force.

Everyone is contracted differently, and these contracts can greatly influence an individual's deconditioning process. For instance, if you have an 9-to-5 job, oftentimes it can be challenging to consistently make decisions from your inner authority. At any given time, someone can command you to do something you don't feel like doing, but because of the contract, you must comply or risk losing your job. This could mean not having a home, food, or transportation.

Such constraints limit how much a person's inner authority can truly guide their decisions. It's not to say every 9-to-5 job causes this issue, but certainly those that are "incorrect" for the individual do. These are jobs we take because someone said we should, or that make us cringe every time we go. Our soul and spirit resist entering such contracts.

This makes deconditioning difficult over the seven-year process because it involves making decisions from your inner authority, programming the cells of your body to respond differently. Suppressing your inner authority due to job demands is counterproductive. Similarly, it can be tough for a major business owner or entrepreneur whose business supports their lifestyle and family. If their inner authority no longer wants that lifestyle, abandoning it all without knowing the future's impact is daunting.

That individual might find it hard to decondition because of the business decisions involved. Not all decisions will harm the business; it depends on the individual and whether their business is correct or harmful for them. There's no one-size-fits-all solution unless it's homogenized.

In this experiment, making decisions as yourself means avoiding homogenization while thriving. Nowadays, being homogenized often seems like the way to thrive from various perspectives.

Consider someone born into wealth, not from slaving over a business but from a family trust, life insurance, or resources that provide without requiring their life force energy. They don't need to work or contract their energy for basic needs. Such individuals can pivot or leave their job or business without fear of losing everything, making deconditioning easier.

Having life insurance and similar plans appears to be the way to go. Over the last 10 years, I've become more financially aware, recently getting into life insurance, trusts, and family banking. Planning in this Cross of Planning context is highly beneficial in many ways.

It's not about having an abundance of resources but about the freedom to live without feeling compelled to trade your energy for survival. We live in a seemingly tyrannical, parasitic system that exploits people's energy. Many people voluntarily give their energy, believing the terms are fully disclosed and mutually beneficial, not realizing the contract might be unilateral, false, or fraudulent—null and void from the start.

Contracts heavily influence many people's decisions. Deconditioning largely involves rescinding or correcting certain contracts and amending agreements with people, places, and things. Too many incorrect contracts can significantly harm our deconditioning process.

At the same time, many people do not give those contracts the power that others do. Mentally and in other ways, folks are not as affected. They get to see that life provides for them in a plethora of ways over time without the use of the contracts. However, the existence of the contract impacts and affects their lives. Ignoring a bill or debt can keep stress away for a while, but it also prevents the individual from accumulating additional funds and other opportunities. Although the person is ignoring it and moving on with their life, there is another side that affects them because it prevents something beneficial from happening. We can only sweep things under the rug for so long until we're tripping over what we are trying to ignore.

Many people enter the Human Design experiment to improve their financial situation and mundane aspects of life, only to find themselves left with just the bare necessities in life for success, satisfaction and peace. Their decisions take them on a different track than what they were previously following, which often involved making money, focusing on finances and the accumulation of material possessions. Ra warned people that this could happen. Many of these individuals realize they can live wonderful lives without all the material things they once had, despite previously rejecting the idea of thriving with less. They discover they do not need all those other things to feel satisfied, successful, or at peace. They begin to see that many of their contracts and agreements are draining and parasitic, and they start cutting them away as best they can.

We were all born into a not-self human drama that has been rolling for a good hundred thousand years and isn’t stopping just because we make correct decisions. Human Design helps us navigate through it with the least resistance. It’s not meant to stop the not-self drama, just to help us navigate it in a truly awareness-rich and unique way. The current systems, prophesied to crumble in the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix (2027 and beyond), are not for us or our children; they are relics of our past. Contracting with them can lead to experiencing the same fate during the coming age.

I feel it is important to acknowledge the state of the world over these past thousands of years. Currently, we are dealing with billions of people, a large percentage of whom fall victim to false and misleading information about everything in life. This includes health, history, laws, and contracts people enter into. Everything is put on paper in this day and age, including the rules and regulations we all abide by. If the majority of the world deals with not-self conditioning because people make decisions based on false factors, false histories, misinformation, and lies, we are bound to end up with the type of world we are dealing with right now. As Ra said, many people have no place in this Human Design experiment because they are so conditioned that they will not get anything out of it.

It is not just individual lives but also generational factors that affect this. Generationally, we can set ourselves up to decondition easier or more difficultly than others. When considering these factors, we must acknowledge the state of the world and avoid a fluffy, cotton-candy perspective where everything is harmonious. We live in a jungle, whether concrete or not. It is good to be aware of this jungle, what is in it, and how it operates and behaves. As a being with my design, I like to be aware of what is around me so I can navigate it in a more correct way, free from delusion.

It is important to see that this is the world we live in and must navigate through, rather than sitting back and expecting the whole world to suddenly align with the greater good. Some will navigate it in a purely unique way, and there will be many nuances in between. In this moment, I see how lessening and augmenting our contracts with people and corporations (Pentas/OC16s) to better suit our nature is a viable necessity in this deconditioning process. It is crucial to begin to give your terms in each and every contract, verbal and written. This way, our children, future generations, and potential incarnations will truly be able to inherit this knowledge and use it without having to navigate within, decondition, and rescind contracts (authorities) that do not serve their unique lives, as we, their foremothers and forefathers, had to do.
