I started this painting on 4th of December, 2015, following Aaron Rutten's tutorial on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0KU9gDxGu8
I was a poor university student at that time, who couldn't afford to buy a pair of shoes, let alone a drawing tablet.. so I made each stroke with a mouse.
I've just recently discovered Krita: https://krita.org/en/ and digital art, so it was obvious to me that I'd use Krita for this tutorial, istead of Corel Painter.
I already knew my way around GIMP - I've made countless profile pictures for a game I've been playing online.
Editing is a bit different. To me, it's like cutting pictures out of a magazine to create a base to the idea I had in mind. Half of it is already done. I just fill what's missing.
But creating something that starts with nothing but a blank page - it's scary! :)
Thank you Aaron for making this tutorial. I was in awe, watching the magic unfold between my hands, following your guidance.
And my journey began.
