6,000 miles, 12 months, a landlubber, and a Florida man: we're attempting to cruise the Great Loop Waterway without plugging into shore power! Our route follows both natural and man-made waterways, through salt and fresh water systems. We live aboard our 1989 Carver motor yacht, Swamp Puppy.

The Loop is another kind of seasonal, long-distance journey up the Atlantic coast, and beyond! But instead of climbing up mountains like on the Appalachian Trail, we’ll navigate through the protected intracoastal waterway, between historic canals, into Canadian waters, across the Great Lakes, down the inland rivers of America’s heartland, and ride out into the Gulf of Mexico.
