Logic Project File Explorer

Logic Project File Explorer

In the past couple of days I had to fix a lot of "empty" Kontakt instruments in a couple of our Logic projects. These empty instruments mostly stem from one of our workstation not having one of the instruments installed or and then sometimes Kontakt forgets all of its instruments and the project is almost silent.

So I needed a way to quickly track down which of the hundreds of Logic files had this instrument in it and this is it:

I came across the LXP Explorer from Rhyd Lewis https://github.com/rhydlewis/lpx-explorer

That app felt kind of slow - so I put Claude Code to work to port this to native Swift and added a couple of features that I like to have. Like for example the app looks for the bounce of a piece and if it finds one makes it playable right in the app - very handy when going through old projects.

I also added some nifty search and filter features.

Since Rhyd had published his work under GPL 3.0 License I was required to do the same.

So now we have a free project inspector for Logic that runs natively on macOS (built on Sonoma).

Enjoy!
