Welcome! I’m Briana! I’m a sociologist with particular interest in disability and sexuality. My honors thesis explored physical disability, sexuality and expectations for romantic relationships. I share some of my research findings to demonstrate historical social injustice about physical disability and sexual agency. (oh, and I also have cerebral palsy.)

By sharing reflections reported by my research participants, I also aspire to give voice to challenges, myths and aspirations of those of us with physical disabilities who encounter obstacles to sexual expression and connection.

Through my work, I provide support, education, advocacy and collaboration to promote equality, empowerment and meaningful connection for us all.

As of February 2025, I’m excited to share that I am in the creation process of a new collective, Hands Across Humanity. This is a mission comprised of a compilation of so many of my passions and my vision for a more inclusive, loving and welcoming society where everybody belongs.

Creating and proactively collaborating to bring linto existence a new paradigm is a team effort. For those of you who don’t know me or haven’t known me long, my heart’s work has often resided within the grassroots structures of nonprofit community visioning and organizing. I am exploring the possibilities for formalizing this endeavor into a 501(c)(3), but in the meantime, I want to talk with you, the people.

I will be sharing my vision and encourage you to let me know what you think, how your ideas and hopes for the future might align and differ with some of those I discuss here and how we might work together to do better. (Find us on FB, Hands Across Humanity.)
