Über Atelier Hanae
Atelier Hanae is a studio shaping health, civic design, and the arts. Founded by Alexandra Sastrawati—an anthropologist trained at Princeton, with parallel practices in strategy, UX, art—the studio translates fieldwork, theory, and aesthetic inquiry into design experiments that reconfigure environments and recast expressions of wellbeing.
With nearly a decade of international research across Tokyo, Singapore, Amsterdam, London, Brussels, and Helsinki, Atelier Hanae approaches each project through a cross-cultural lens, attuned to diverse rhythms that structure urban and civic life. Core work: arts-in-health innovation, inclusive UX research & design, insight & strategy.
Philosophy
Every engagement begins with listening. To the grain of human stories, vibrancy of life, and atmospheres that scaffold belonging. Ethnography here is a method of translation—moving between publics, institutions, and possibilities, rendering complexity into clarity without loss of depth. Original concepts such as provenance annotation and ethnographic canvas orient this work, ensuring both intellectual rigor and practical application.
Mission
To steward horizons where art, health, and design are not separate domains but braided forms of care. Atelier Hanae functions as a studio of thought and practice, transforming insights from lived experience into strategies, worlds, and ethos that sustain health and wellbeing.
Vision
Over the coming years, Atelier Hanae aims to pioneer arts-in-health models and develop applied architectures for resilient urban and planetary futures.
