My wife Alicia and my daughter Sammy are my two girls. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love them both, they are my whole world. This photo was taken on a trip we were taking somewhere in Virginia. Sammy is at the age when you ask her to smile, she does a funny smile. And I love it, she is still super happy, either way. Both Sammy and Alicia actually have a lot of similar mannerisms, and they are both super funny - even if that is not their intention. They walk the same, they move the same, they even have the same smile when they are both super happy.
To me it is wonderful, because I love my wife with all my heart, and my daughter has inherited the best part of each of us. Alicia is one of the most caring and capable people you've ever met. She's really good at figuring stuff out, and that is good - because sometimes it takes me a while to figure out some stuff out - unless I really, really need to figure it out in a hurry. But generally speaking, I like to take my sweet time. Alicia tends to be pretty ahead of the game on that, so that's great teamwork.
Sammy is a fascinating young lady, and every day she amazes me with how witty and observant she truly is. She looks like she is not paying attention sometimes. Well, nothing could be further from the truth, because she is paying attention to details that most people just don't see. But then again, that depends on her mood. And both my girls share a similar temper, which is good, because I know how to navigate those moments with ease. And to be honest, they are mostly in a good mood, so it is all good. In either case, we are all introverted types at the BeeZee household, so we do enjoy our "me time" - even if we do enjoy our company - however paradoxical that might sound.
Well, that means that we like our independence, but we appreciate knowing that we are not too far away should we need help. For example, Sammy likes doing her own thing, and that is great. But if I call her, she will sprint to the rescue, no matter how far she is in the house. Her mom does make me wait a bit, but she does come to the rescue. And that is something I can never take for granted. I will be talking a lot more about my two girls, because there is plenty to talk about. When I look at this photo, I smile, because they make me feel lucky to be alive.
