oh hi! I am a novelist, and an award-winning short story writer and essayist. I care deeply about boosting works by marginalised authors, which is why I've started my substack, 'Writing Back'. I am currently doing a PhD where I'm re-imagining 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' in the context of the 1953 coup in Iran. To understand Middle Eastern geopolitics today, we have to look back at 1953. My work is about holding the west to account for its actions by shining a light on context which it seeks to erase.
