The Path Forward

The Path Forward

Mar 18, 2025

7 years ago, the thought crossed my mind to start a YouTube channel, how amazing it would be to travel and make videos. But it was only that - a thought. I didn't pursue it, though I did continue to film a lot while traveling. About 4 years ago, I decided I really wanted to do it, and of course, if you really want something, action must be taken. I saved my money and bought a laptop, something I had not had in years, with the specific purpose and idea to edit videos. I've never been very tech savvy, and it took a little time just to familiarize myself with a laptop again. Then came the real challenge, learning how to edit. I read dozens of articles about the best (and cheapest) video editing programs. After finally choosing one, I watched countless YouTube tutorial videos on how to edit with that program, and began my first attempts. I always knew I liked filming, of course I love traveling, but I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the editing process. Although it was a long and arduous process to understand at first, It turns out, I really have a passion for editing! All these years and I had no idea. I didn't begin vlogging until shortly before my arrival to Egypt almost 3.5 years ago, and that was a new learning curve as well. But now, I think I can safely say I have at least an idea on how to film and create videos. Of course, there is A LOT of room for improvement, there is certainly always more to learn, but I see how my videos have changed over the past few years, and I think they've changed for the better.

But the best part of all? The community that has grown through my channel. The amazing people I have met while filming, and the lovely people I have met and continue to meet who watch my videos. I am able to relay helpful information to other travelers, and (I hope) encourage others to pursue their dreams, be daring, take risks, and dive fully into your life and what you want.
I have the privilege of sharing with the world all the beautiful parts of Egypt and other countries I travel to. To show the many kind people, delicious food, and incredible history and landscapes of our planet. To showcase that the goodness of people far outweighs the bad. That trying new things may be intimidating at first, but it can change your world if you let it. So, this is a long post, but it was just something on my mind. I want to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey, and to all the people who continue to support me by watching my channel, and especially to those of you here who donate to "buy me a shawarma". I hope you, who are reading this, surround yourself with good and positive people, who will support you in your dreams, and encourage you to pursue your passions. I hope you will take action to begin making that dream happen, for nobody else will do it for you. It takes time, as the old saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day." But to live your life the way you want, the way you dream....that is what life is about. Our lives are short, but even one day living the life you dream of is better than a lifetime of regret. If you haven't begun chasing that dream, start now, you can do it, I know you can. If you're already on that path, keep going. Share the love, share the hope, share the dreams, and keep moving forward ❤️
