Good Mourning in practice

Aug 31, 2026

Hello you lovely humans out there! I'd like to introduce something new I've been working on for the last year. As I'm writing this there are nearly 100 of you here already on BMAC who have, at some point along this journey, supported my work. I'm so very excited to share this with you.

This is for people who are living with grief, no matter how long it's been.
This is for people who care about those living with grief, who want to do and be better for them.

Good Mourning

imageAs a culture, we don't really know what the hell to do with the knowledge that we are mortal.

So let's start figuring it out together

It’s uncomfortable.

It’s inevitable.

The truth is, no single book, guru, coach, or class will soothe the way that makes us feel.

That comfort can only be found in one another, in community, in family, friends, and in the time we spend with it.

The problem is, somewhere along the way we lost the ability to comfortably be there for each other in these difficult times. We lost our fluency.

Why do we act as though each death and grief is a new human experience?

What is Good Mourning?

This idea is a support system, a guide, a primer to a language we all need to rebuild together. It’s the beginning of a shared approach, influenced by the rhythms of the culture we exist in and the natural world. This is a living, changing thing and my hope is that everyone reading this will help its evolution.

At its root, the ethos is that dying, death, and grief belong to people, not professionals. We all have the capacity to hold this for one another and we need to learn how to do that again. Experiencing appropriately strong emotions about incredibly difficult moments is not a bad thing. It’s a necessary thing. A thing we are supposed to be doing together.

People living with grief need support.

People who care about those living with grief need help supporting them.

This is my offer to help us revive an old way of being, one we’re missing even if we aren’t aware of what's gone.

How do we practice Good Mourning?

Like everything I do, I wanted to make sure it was 100% accessible to everyone. No gatekeeping here. That's why you can find the full Intro to Good Mourning for free in the shop.

However, if you'd like to join other Good Mourners that's where our memberships come in. We'll meet regularly to share what we've been doing to fold grief into our lives, to learn to experience joy alongside it all. To support each other, learn from each other, and practice what it really means to live and grieve in community.

Everything has been updated on the BMAC page, but if you have any questions whatsoever, please email me at [email protected].
