Stop guessing and start playing The Crossings like you’ve played it a hundred times.
This 21-page strategy guide from GolfCourseIntel.com breaks down Ron Garl’s Durham layout one hole at a time, with a custom game plan for low, mid, and high handicappers. It covers every tee shot, approach, greenside play, and putt, plus an expected score for each hole so you know where to attack and where to take your medicine.
What’s inside:
- Tee selection and course handicap matrix for men and women
- Full 18-hole, shot-by-shot strategy for three handicap levels
- How the new Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens change your approach shots
- Wetland carry and lay-up strategy for the inward nine
- Pin tier, slope, and putting breakdowns for every green
- Course overview, agronomy notes, and walkability rating
Sample from the guide:
Hole 12: Long Island (Par 3, 157 yards from the Black tees)
The signature hole. A pure peninsula green surrounded by water on three sides. The generous green appears psychologically microscopic from the tee and slopes gently toward the aquatic edges.
High-Handicap Strategy (Expected Score: 4.1, Bogey): Aim for the absolute center of the green. If you fear the water, explicitly bail out to the small grass landing area short-left. A chip from the short-left bailout area is a high-percentage play, and a two-putt bogey is a strategic victory over the psychology of the hole.
Whether you’re a regular at The Crossings or playing it for the first time, this guide helps you avoid the big numbers and find the pars and birdies.
