Wilmington (NC) Municipal Golf Course - Course Strategist

A Performance Blueprint for "The Muni"
Donald Ross designed this course in 1926, and a century later it's still quietly brutal - not with length, but with crowned "turtleback" greens that reject anything hit to the edges and cross-bunkers placed just far enough from the putting surface to wreck your depth perception.
This guide breaks down all 18 holes for Low, Mid, and High-Handicap players, tee by tee, so you stop guessing and start playing it the way Ross actually designed it to be played.
Inside you'll get:
- Hole-by-hole strategy for all 18 holes, with specific club selection and tee shot lines for every skill level
- Tee recommendations & course handicap calculations based on your actual driving distance
- The architectural story - Ross's design philosophy, the 2014 restoration, and why those bunkers are lying to you about distance
- Expected score ranges so you walk in with realistic targets
Here's a taste, from Hole 3 - statistically the hardest hole on the course:
"Aim exclusively for the exact center of the plateau green. Any slight miss left, right, or long will plunge down steep embankments."
That's the whole philosophy of this course in one sentence. This guide tells you exactly where to miss it - and where not to.
Play it smarter than the last guy who three-putted the 11th.
