About globy.dev
the developper behind the tools/calculators for PlayAtlas game

I am the creator of globy.dev app.

Developed the first version of globy.dev on my extra time after school with a friend, in desire to learn newer technology around web (VueJS/NodeJS).
The website has been very popular very fast, and after getting up to 30k unique visitors/months, I developped the V2 of the website. Again, I used this as a way to learn new stuff (ReactJS and Sockets).

Support globy.dev ! 😃
Why do globy.dev need support now ?
My work at school is getting harder and harder, and I now need to prioritize my extra time.
I don't have time to play Atlas, and so, I can't gather datas to update the website while I play anymore.
The website has always been free, with no paywall.
And I don't sell any users datas/cookies, nor collect them.
I never raised any money from that service. It only cost me money.
I decided to stop the service, in order to stop the domain name subscription, as I don't have time to update datas anymore.
Users asked me to open donation service, so that the website continue to live.
So here we are !
How will donation will be spent ?
First, it will be used to pay the the subscription for the Domain Name.
It's 12e/year.
Second, any money recolted above that will be used to invest on a real physical server.
Currently, the server is hosted on a 34 euros device (who could have thought that this small Raspberry could handle 30k users ??).
The server will enhance my ability to work on both school project, and the website. Allowing me to develop calculator that doesn't only rely in the user computer.
If this goal progress well, I will spend the needed time to collect every needed datas each patch to get the website up-to-date.
Third, if the donations go further than this goal, I will redistribute the extra donations between the 3 developers who participated in the development of the site (myself (main dev), Synlo (school friend who help me to put everything online and gave lots of tips) and Simonsays095, who developped the Stats Extractor, and upgraded the Treasure Hunt calc).
