This Year Didn’t Defeat Me. It Defined Me.

Dec 18, 2025

Hey Tribe,

This year was exactly what I thought it was gonna be… and also nothing I planned.

And somehow, both can be true.

One of the biggest revelations God’s been showing me lately is this: every single path I’ve taken (good or "bad"), if I’m choosing Him, victory is already built in. Not because I did everything right, but because He already won. All I had to do was keep choosing Him.

I’m ending this year without my boot (I done fractured my ankle in September yall)— a symbol of one of the lowest seasons I’ve walked through. And in exchange, I received my walking cane, Kane’dra, a symbol of something new.

I won’t lie...there’s still some anxiety tied to it. But I feel anchored in a way I didn’t expect. Steadier. More aware. More present.

It feels like a few things tried to take me out this year, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But instead, God used all of it to push me out of comfort and into my spiritual womanhood. And honestly? I have peace.

That peace is more than enough.

Because even in the darkness, God held my hand tightly, not to keep me the same, but because He wanted me to become someone different. Someone who leans on Him differently. Someone who trusts Him deeper. Someone who understands that victory doesn’t always look like relief… sometimes it looks like refinement.

Singleness. Physical injuries. Triggers. Grief. All of it forced me into a posture where I couldn’t rely on my own strength anymore. And that’s when it clicked:

Victory is knowing He already won, so all I have to do is seek Him.

“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” — 1 John 5:4

Not our plans. Not our timelines. Not our ability to push through.

Our faith.

So as this year closes, I’m not tallying wins the way the world does. I’m naming victory differently. I showed up. I stayed. I chose God, even when it was uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and heavy.

And that counts.

✨ And if you’re feeling stirred… leave a comment! I’d love for you to share some of the victories you've experienced this year.

With grace, gratitude, and a heart full of faith,
