About Gerald Dagher
BlackStory and The Maron Project. Receipts, first-hand stories.
Hi! I'm Gerald. I grew up in the Bronx and I live in South Florida now. This page is for two projects I build in public—BlackStory and The Maron Project.
I built BlackStory so Black history remains accessible and cannot be erased. Not a handful of famous incidents in a handful of famous cities. Documented presence across the country, on the ground it happened, with the receipts still attached. It is a research platform: an interactive map, census data, archive records, a decade timeline, and the history close to you. Every public claim has to clear an evidence bar. Source, capture, confidence. When records disagree, the disagreement stays on the page. Street-level residences stay off the map and living people stay protected, but the record itself is not something a wiki can silently overwrite. Readers, educators, journalists, and community researchers can check it instead of being asked to take it on faith.
It's live at blackstory.app.
The Maron Project is storytelling. I started it to elevate the voices of marginalized communities so people can learn who we are and what we do in the communities we all live and operate in. The people who live, work, and build inside those spaces tell those stories themselves.
Support here goes to keeping both of them public. Hosting, archives, and the evidence work that keeps BlackStory standing. Recording and publishing for The Maron Project.
