A day trading journal app for beginner traders
I'm George — a day trader and software engineer based in Canada. I trade small-cap momentum, and like most people starting out I tracked my trades in a spreadsheet that never told me what I actually needed to know.
So I tried the category leaders. They're capable tools, and one of them handles broker imports really well. But I kept hitting the same two walls.
The analysis I actually wanted sat in the expensive tiers — MFE and MAE, the numbers that tell you whether you're cutting winners short or letting losers run, were a paid upgrade. And the tools that did include everything buried it in dashboards so dense I couldn't find the three numbers I cared about. Both wanted $40–$80 a month. That's a real cost for someone still working out whether they can trade profitably at all — you end up paying pro prices before you have pro results.
So I built Apollo Trader: a trading journal that imports your broker's CSV and shows the numbers that matter without making you hunt for them — win rate, profit factor, per-share P&L, and MFE/MAE included, not upsold. IBKR, Questrade, Webull and TradingView are supported today, with more brokers on the way.
It's free while it's in public beta — no card, no trade limits, nothing locked.
It isn't free to run, though. Hosting, market-data feeds and email delivery cost money every month and come out of my own pocket. If Apollo Trader has helped your trading, a coffee helps keep it running and funds the next broker import.
Completely optional. Nothing in Apollo Trader is locked behind a donation, and nothing ever will be.
