Über George "Clay" Mitchell
I've spent more than 30 years telling stories as a journalist, writer, editor, and story developer. Whether I'm uncovering an overlooked story, building a fantasy world, developing characters, or exploring what makes a great story work, I'm driven by curiosity and a love of storytelling.
Here, I share stories, ideas, creative experiments, and occasional rabbit holes that don't always fit anywhere else. You'll find original writing, worldbuilding, behind-the-scenes looks at story development, and thoughts on everything from books and movies to television and games.
If you enjoy what I do, you're welcome to buy me a coffee—or help fuel my next late-night creative adventure. Your support gives me a little more freedom to explore new ideas, develop projects, and keep telling stories worth sharing.
And occasionally, it might just buy me a taco.

Had an interesting time trying to get one of my stories posted on BuyMeACoffee (BMaC). Tried all sorts of things. Erased my cache. Copied my story into a file and stripped it down to plain text. It still wouldn't publish. So, there's the half-and-half method. Split the story in half and see where the error lies. Posted up the top half. Error message. Split that in half. Posted up the first quarter...
