Had an interesting time trying to get one of my stories posted on BuyMeACoffee (BMaC).
Tried all sorts of things. Erased my cache. Copied my story into a file and stripped it down to plain text.
It still wouldn't publish.
So, there's the half-and-half method. Split the story in half and see where the error lies.
Posted up the top half.
Error message.
Split that in half.
Posted up the first quarter of the story.
Error message.
I reread my story.
I found the line. My interview subject, Dan Williams, a pastor, said something harmless in context. However, he used a Biblical phrasing that triggered BMaC's safeguards.
It took me over 40 minutes to find the issue. Normally, these sorts of things would frustrate me.
Not this time.
I had reservations about other sites because they had little or no issues with posting problematic screeds. BMaC catching this one made me believe I chose the right site.
The phrasing in my story was harmless. I understood how or why it was flagged. I changed the wording, and I'll be moving on when I post it later.
