Droprukh workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine 🇺🇦

Oct 10, 2026

Just spent about 3 weeks in Ukraine. The last few days we were in Kyiv. There I visited the DropRukh (formerly DropMode) workshop, which I first came across last year when we drove a Golf Mk1 to Ukraine.

DropRukh does most things automotive—lots of custom work, a lot of stance and fitment.

Their previous workshop was hit by a Shahed drone last summer; fortunately, no one was injured. They found this new place, and it took a lot of work to get it up and running. They managed it in just 3 months. As Maxim said, they need customers to make money, so they had to work hard and get creative with solutions because the budget was very tight. See the picture below of the CD/DVD wall—a stylish wall that brightens up the workshop, and everything was donated to them by friends and family.

Here is the Octavia belonging to Maksim, the owner of DropRukh.

Quick specs: 1.8T (approx. 200 hp), 4Motion, widebody, 12" wide wheels on all four corners with a fair bit of custom, home-built suspension up front to get the right look. Has been his daily driver for many years!

I don't remember what this car was called. I've never seen it before. But insanely cool! This is one of the customer cars they have built. Really cool rat-look!image

imageHere is the BBQ car. Under the hood, they took out the engine and installed a charcoal grill instead. The previous grill was a BMW, but the Russians blew that one up along with the rest of their former workshop.image
