A few of you have asked about ways to support the show, so we wanted to share a quick update on where we’re landing with that. For now we have created this space for donating directly to our "fun bucket." What do we mean by that?
This is all about facilitating the fun. Unfortunately, dollars make a LOT of that move quickly. Prim & Sorvana both work full time jobs and have families to provide for first, meaning the podcast gets whatever leftovers we can spare...which in this economy isn't as much as we'd like. So we have this idea of a separate bucket of funds specifically dedicated to spending on fun Game Face LARP things. We have a couple of specific goals in mind for our "fun bucket"...
Purchasing Giveaway Items from Event Vendors for Giveaways - They do incredible work and deserve to be paid for it! We want to do an end of year giveaway and want to support our favorite event vendors by hyping their work but also paying them for it just like anyone else.
Upgrading/Replacing Equipment - The reality of this is we're out there with some of our equipment really putting it to the durability test. I've had my tripod knocked over a lot and it's missing pieces, overall is just kind of getting to the end of it's life cycle. We also would love to be able to get a nice camera for recording videos for posting our episodes WITH VIDEO to Youtube as well.
HYPE Events - We'd love to be able to attend extra LARP events that aren't within our current budgets. We budget for attending a minimum of 3 local camping events each year (Olympics, Armageddon, and Oktoberfest in INDIANA where we live) and try to get at least 1 more further away. If we had a little extra dollars for that, we couldn't tell ourselves no and we could come see yall more. :-)
Promoting the LARP Community - This one is low on the list, but it would be hella cool...we'd love to attend a convention as a podcast to tell people not just about our podcast, but about the LARP worlds that exist out there! There are a few local to us that would be a great start - Indy PopCon, Indiana ComicCon, GenGon...this is part of that "marathon" mentality.
So...if you feel like supporting the cause, feel free to throw some money in the coffers. It would mean so much to us to feel like other people like what we're doing enough to support us in this way. This community has already given us so much - it's given us each other, it's given us partners, it's given us a support system of friends locally and all over the country. We just wanna make yall proud.
