Good morning, fellow Wall Street swing traders.

Today the markets fell for no apparent reason.

And, as we expected, the financial and high beta sectors were all down.

However, today's market decline was a worrying sign, as we weren't expecting an overall market close lower.

Surprisingly, with no apparent cause, the SPX's drop below 5830 seemed absurd, as it was a statistically very large drop.

The question now is, what caused the market to fall and will it bounce back tomorrow?

Let's take a look at Fullhapce’s Daily swing market forecast and explore the possibilities.

Let's check the daily market index movements.

Most of the indices are down except for the Nasdaq, with the Russell 2000 being the bigger loser.

SPX: 5853.98, down -0.18%.

Dow Jones: 42931.6, down -0.80%.

Nasdaq: 18540.01, up 0.27%.

Russell 2000: 2256.5, down -1.51%.

Let's take a look at the daily sector performance.

All sectors were down except for technology, with real estate having the biggest decline.

Other sectors that did poorly included financials, materials, housing/building, media, consumer discretionary, casinos, REITs, consumer staples, and transportation.

What happened?

The market decline over the weekend or on Monday morning was not due to any major news.

China's decision to cut interest rates was expected, and there weren't many important economic data releases.

There were also few earnings announcements, which contributed to the market's lack of direction.

Rising interest rates make stocks less valuable, and investors are more cautious about upcoming earnings announcements after a week of strong results.

These factors have caused some investors to sell stocks to take profits after recent gains.

Political uncertainty has also affected the market, with concerns about Trump's chances of victory growing, especially given the unfavorable polls.

Perhaps there was also a psychological reason for this, as investors feared that bond yields would rise significantly following the outcome of the US election

Here are a few things to consider.

China has stepped in to stimulate its economy with a stimulus package.

Germany's September producer price index (PPI) came in lower than expected, suggesting possible deflation.

Companies like Boeing and Musk announced good news.

While the current macroeconomic environment looks favorable, high equity valuations and post-election political risks could impact the market.

Let's take a look at the daily price forecast for traders.

The weekly market potential is still strongly bullish.

The daily market still has growth potential, but today's drop has created a little more uncertainty.

Looking at today's market action, the SPX fell to 5825 in the first two hours before recovering to close at 5855, which is below last Friday's close.

Investors seem to subscribe to the theory that if Trump becomes president and bond rates spike, the stock market could plunge.

According to our sector forecasts, bonds are likely to recover from today's big drop sooner rather than later, and the financial sector could continue to fall.

In a market dominated by fear without actual events, we decided to stand by yesterday's stance.

As a result, we believe that on Tuesday the 22nd, the market could see a temporary recovery, with the SPX likely to move between 5820 and 5890 before closing around 5875.

Then, on Wednesday, if the Bank of Canada and the Beige Book are favorable to the market, we could see further gains.

There is also a contrarian view.

The opposite scenario is that the SPX is likely to fall below 5800 as market fears grow and then test the market's support from there.

Other rationales for this scenario include

There are no events that will allay the market's fears.

The fiscal situation in the US remains a concern with a potentially unfavorable scenario unfolding by 2025.

There are concerns about rising yields, high expectations following solid earnings, and geopolitical risks related to Israel, Russia, and China.

While the naysayers have a point, we believe that psychological fears are often fleeting and their predictions are unlikely to be realized in the absence of major events.

However, traders sympathetic to the opposite scenario, who believe that the market is overreacting to current events, may see an opportunity to buy while the price is low after a market decline.

Here is the conclusion.
We believe that the weekly market is still in a bull market and the daily market is in a weak bull market, but the uncertainty in the market has increased due to the unexplained decline.

Despite the uncertainty, we believe that the market is still likely to recover from yesterday's decline and move into a bull market.

Traders who agree with our forecast may want to stay bullish and consider buying dips until some profits are realized around SPX 5900.

We also expect the financial sector to continue to decline, although bonds are likely to recover from today's decline.

Traders may also be wise to consider both the main forecast scenarios and the counterfactuals to effectively manage risk.

Thanks for watching.
