thank you so much for sharing all the information and everything you do ! i love listening to the podcast. And have felt so much more confident making decisions and listening to my baby and body over. we got reccommened consultant lead care at 38 weeks but i knew everything was fine with baby and felt confident enough to decline and birth baby at home calling the midwife afterwards

Morning! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you both (better birth uk and free to birth). When I first got pregnant (first baby) I was so terrified of the whole thing I even regretted it (sounds awful I know). My pregnancy yoga teacher, who then became my doula, recommended both of your pages amongst others like Kemi, Dr Wickham and Dr Reed. I was about 5 weeks at this point and never even heard of a doula or birth physiology. I have literally listened to every podcast you’ve both done and devoured all your content. I cannot tell you the difference this has made to me. I am now nearly 34 weeks pregnant and have gone from wanting a CS and/or all the drugs possible to planning a physiological home birth. I had a really supportive midwifery team until I got to the point where I started to decline some aspects of care (mainly fundal growth measurements) and I was then ‘escalated’ to the consultant as they had ‘never had anyone do this before’. I’ve had lots of push back including consultant appointment being made for me (and declined), phone calls, the head of midwifery on my case, calling me out of the blue, telling me I’m now high risk, amongst many other things. I’ve had many (inaccurate) references to things like stillbirth risks. This is despite me putting my decisions in writing to the team and asking not to be contacted about my choices or having to repeat myself. I was initially really distressed by this but with the information on your pages I was able to confidently advocate for myself and be at peace and confident in my decisions. I honestly couldn’t have done this without you both. I have learnt so much and been led to so many other useful sources from you guys. My partner has also listened along with me and he is now really clued up and aware of our choices and the process too, which has massively helped him be less afraid for me. I was especially inspired by Donna’s 44wk birth story recently, on normal boring free birth, as her antenatal experience I can really relate to mine so far. There’s so much more I could say but I’ll leave it there 🤣☺️ I’m sorry to send take up your time sending you such a long message, I’m sure you get inundated and I know a lot of your advice is given without you benefiting financially. Lots of love and have an amazing Christmas break, Jen xxxxxxx

(Love Erin's page too!) Your yoga teacher sounds wonderful too 😂😂 You are doing an awesome job at navigating your options and really advocating for yourself, I LOVE to hear this. I'm so excited for your birth and over the moon that you're feeling confident and buzzing for the birth. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes! Sending much love and thank you for taking the time, and for listening the podcast! I agree, Donna's story is EPIC. Thank you for my coffee!💗💗💗
