Blender tip: How to make a Curved Text using a Bezier curve

Feb 06, 2024

Welcome back to another Blender tip!

This time I'll be teaching you how to curve a Text object using a Bezier curve.

  1. Start by adding a Bezier curve

  1. Select the curve and enter Edit Mode

  1. You can edit the curve as you wish by selecting the Transform Tool and moving/rotating the curve's handles (looks like working with Illustrator)

  1. Once you're done, switch back to Object Mode and add a Text object

  1. With your Text selected, switch to Edit Mode and edit your text as you wish, you'll see the cursor so you can press the backspace to delete the "Text" string and type your own one

  1. After typing your own text, switch back to Object Mode. Press "S" to scale your object and move the mouse to resize the text object

Select the Modifier properties panel, click "Add Modifier" and select Curve in the list

  1. Select the Eyedropper and click on the Bezier curve. In this way, you'll tell Blender to make your text follow its line

  1. Press S on your keyboard again to scale the text and make it follow the end of the line

  1. You're done! Now you may extrude your text object to give it some 3D depth by increasing the value of the Extrude box (inside the Geometry dropdown) from the Text Data Properties panel

Here's how your text should look at the end

That's all for this tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it!
