Blender tip: How to add multiple Materials to a 3D object

Hi everybody, and welcome to my first post!

Are you passionate about 3D modeling or Game Development?

Here's a quick tutorial about Blender: I'll teach you how to add multiple Materials to a 3D model, follow these steps:

  1. Select your model in Object Mode, and open the Material properties panel

  1. Click the [+] button and the [+ New button] to add a Material to the hierarchy

  1. repeat those steps 3 times, to add at least 3 Materials

    image

  1. Select the first Material and select the color bar next to Base Color to pick up a color for your Material

image

  1. Select the other Materials and pick up a different color of your choice

    image

  1. Enter Edit Mode from the top-left dropdown menu, and make sure that the Face Select tool is enabled

  1. Enable Viewport Shading on the top-right corner of your editor workspace, so that you can see materials applied to your 3D object

  1. Select a Material from the hierarchy, select a face of your object and click the [Assign] button to paint the selected face with the chosen Material

  1. Select another face of your model and another Material, click the [Assign] button again, and see the magic. Feel free to repeat this for all the faces you wish to paint, this is what you may see at the end
