Yet again we find ourselves replacing parts on the truck that shouldn't have failed so soon. I do want to say that I did wash the truck many many times during the winter but I guess just washing with water and some soap does not do the trick. Next winter the truck will be getting an undercoating along with a pre salt wash. Pretty simple to do these radiators as in 1977 they have basically zero other stuff to remove. I'm sure if you have an ac that probably complicates things a bit. What can I say, for 120 USD on ebay these really are not that bad. If it was not exposed to a corrosive it would not have had any issues. I highly recommend cooling upgrades for daily drivers as it is the number one killer of these rigs is poor cooling mixed with incorrect tuning making them run lean. Keeping fresh fluids in an engine and keeping the engine cool are its lifelines.
