Title pending?

Yesterday, I visited the Polish Association in Slough for the game between KS Gryf and Britwell. A game that could have seen the visitors crowned champions for a second successive season. After a goalless first half, Britwell took the lead through Connor Shingleston in the 46th minute. Despite numerous chances, they couldn't add to that goal, and payed the price 5 minutes from time when forward Marius Stanescu bundled the ball in on the goal line. Despite protests from the visitors about the goal, the referee allowed it to stand and the game ended 1-1. An interesting match next weekend, Britwells final game away to Southcote who have a game in hand. A draw will give them the title, but a win for Southcote will mean they have a chance of leapfrogging Britwell at the death, and claiming the title for themselves (should they win their last match of course!!) . If you'd like to see video highlights of yesterday's game, they'll be available on YouTube and twitter between tonight and tomorrow night. It's that time of the season now, lots of promotion and relegation issues coming up in the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to covering some of them.
