I decided to write this letter. I don't know who will read it. However, please read this letter and think for a few minutes, then get back to celebrating. I am asking for just a few minutes of your attention.
And I will start my story with envy. I look at your photos and I'm so jealous of you. I read your stories and I am so jealous of you.
You have no idea how much I envy you. This envy cannot be compared with other envies.
This is not the kind of envy when a person is jealous of another because he has a new smartphone. This is not the kind of envy when a person envies another person for having higher grades or a higher salary. This is not the kind of envy when a person is jealous that someone was able to attend a BTS concert or even talk to them. This is not envy at all. I'm crazy jealous of you. I used to be jealous of people because they don't get sick like me and they can walk peacefully. However, even this envy is no match for this envy. Because then I knew that a year would pass and I would be able to get out of bed and walk again.
I am madly jealous of you! I'm jealous not because you celebrate something, but because you have a peaceful life. Today you could go for a walk with friends or family. Or you could work quietly today.
My day is completely different from yours. And I envy you!
Today I sat in the corridor for more than four hours and prayed that the rockets would not hit my house. The two-wall rule can save your life.
And when I found out that the rocket hit another city, in Kyiv, I was worried, because my cousin is there. And other relatives. And also friends.
How many rocket launches were there today? A wave of rockets? Four or five? I lost count.
While you were celebrating, I couldn't even drink coffee. Some Ukrainians died today due to rockets. And I feel terrible, from the fact that I am glad that it is not me. That these are not my relatives, not my friends, not my acquaintances.
I am asking for a few minutes of your thoughts. The fact that you can now calmly celebrate or simply live without shelling every day is because Ukrainians give their lives every day. This is because we are working on it here in Ukraine. My cousin is at the front. My uncle is at the front. The love of my life is at the front. Every day I fear that I may receive a message that they are not alive.
My school friend is now in captivity. Olenivka. Maybe you have heard. There, the Russians simply killed the people they captured in order to hide their crimes. He is there to survive. However, there is still no good news.
So many even from my family are working to keep Ukraine afloat. I also. Despite the health problems, and the fact that I was able to jump through several deadly diseases, I worked a lot this year. At the limit of their capabilities. Even crossing that line. Because there is no other way. Now I have a small charity fund that helps Ukrainian writers. And I try to develop it. Because it takes a lot of effort to resist Russian lies and propaganda. And now it exists. Those who support Putin and the war in Ukraine are well received by foreigners. These Russians are praised and given awards. And when Ukrainians pay attention to the fact that those Russians support Putin and the war, they tell us to shut up. For example, a figure skating athlete. She danced a famous dance and all the world's famous magazines write about her. And they write good words about her. And in the spring of 2022, she met with Putin and expressed her support. And Ukrainians write and say about it. However, for some reason, the same journalists almost call us Nazis.
This is propaganda. Russia has a great culture. Russia is beautiful. It's just Putin. However, that Putin himself launches all these missiles? Can he clone? Why is he supported in Russia? This is propaganda. Their propaganda contains many lies and many words that Ukraine should not exist.
So... I also spend my money on sponsoring Ukrainian writers. That is why I may not have money for myself.
My relatives work a lot at the front or in the rear. Many have no day off today. They will work so that Russia does not go further. So that you can also rest in peace. Because you think Russia will stop at Ukraine? Never. They want to capture you all. They want to send missiles at you too, only there are Ukrainians. They talk about it on their television. Officially. And all Russians in the country support them.
Therefore, think about Ukraine and Ukrainians for a few minutes.
Even if I am wildly jealous of you, I will never trade all this for slavery. I'd rather live like this, the main thing is that without Russians.
