Once upon a time, I made every offering with a soft apology at the front.
Not because I wasn’t sure of the message, but because I had been taught to cushion the truth so it wouldn’t bruise the people it wasn’t meant for.
I used to lace my stories with disclaimers:
“This isn’t for everyone…”
“I know that some may feel differently…”
“Don’t get me wrong…”
But here’s what I know now:
I am not everyone’s medicine. And I was never supposed to be.
When you go to a restaurant, you don’t order caviar just to tell the chef how much better the onion rings would’ve been.
You just… order what you want.
And I want my work, my writing, my weaving, my witnessing to be consumed in the same.
No preface. No apology.
No comfort cleansing for palatability.
If my truth doesn’t resonate, that’s not an error in the algorithm of existence.
That’s alignment doing its job.
I trust the magnet of my message.
I trust that the ones who need it will feel it in their bones.
And I trust that those who don’t…
Will walk on, unharmed, untouched, and unburdened by what was never theirs to hold.
This is not defiance. This is devotion.
To clarity. To alignment. To service.
Because my mission is not to be everything to everyone.
It’s to be exactly what I am for the exact souls who are waiting to remember something when they read my words.
If that’s you, welcome home.
If it’s not, I still honor your path.
But I will not soften my truth to make it easier to swallow.
I’m not here to be digestible.
I’m here to be real.
And real isn’t always soft around the edges
but it is sacred.
So thank you, for being here.
And for taking what resonates, and honoring yourself when it doesn’t.
