Guess who's back, back again...

Nov 07, 2023

I tasted the rainbow of game engiens this past year. I said I was going to make the game with the quest engien. But, since AI has become relevent I don't see how I could use the limited quest engien to make the game. I will make a text-base game with squiffy. The squiffy engien is limited and easy to use. I undnerstand how to extend it easily.

I am making this post to get people to test the game and send me feedback on bugs. This game won't get much traction. I want it this way so, that I don't get overwhelmed. I doubt this post will get any eyes on it.

Be warned, even this limited release of the game still needs another fixing pass on the text, a couple addition of images, balance on the rpg elements, refine the sounds. I will move onto the second part because I have a good idea on what it will look like. I will comeback to the first part later. You can the download first part below.

In regards to Ai...

The fun in text adventure games is on solving puzzles. AI great at generating dynamic content but I still feel like they are not quite there, when it comes to creating an experience that humanisticlly meningful gameplay and story. This game isn't just a product to me, I'd like to get my hands dirty on it. I can see using the ai to for example, create a poem or making much colorful language that I could possibly make. But, I don't see it as a tool to structure my story and make decisions on gameplay.

I feel like AI is going to dump a lot of content into the sea of the internet and my game will sink. I won't compete in refining my langauge (I will try to just be good enough), I will try to compete in the association of ideas. I will create data that humans and machines can train on but that can't be generated except from me. I'll see where that takes me.
