Hello,

I'm Jane form Five in the Nest. I started making baskets when I moved to the Orkney Islands, with my husband and five children.

I now live on the East Coast of Scotland and my creative practice is driven by the versatility of coil basketry and the seemingly endless possibilities that it offers. I have now begun to revisit and expand upon my love of stitch, using applique and quilting, to turn scraps and repurposed fabrics into little works of art. I draw inspiration from the natural world around me; the wild coastline; the native grasses and flowers and my own little garden.
