After my first real accident out in the Capital Forest here in Washington, I've started to reconsider some of my gear. My helmet was three days old, and given that I suffered a concussion, is no doubt unusable and will need replacing. It was 300.00 after tax, which is something I won't be able to come up with in short time especially since I can't work with this head injury.
So my goal right now is getting improved gear and replacing that helmet, because there is undoubtedly going to be a next time as a new rider. The important thing is I can walk away from this. Aches, and pains aside, I'm functional. For that, I am truly grateful.
