Seoul`s Bus system

Seoul`s Bus system

Apr 07, 2025

The public transportation system is not only well made for subway, but also for the bus.
Bus might be a little bit more confusing as there are several numbers and colors to keep track on, but just like subway, once you know what number to take and where to get off, it is not as hard as it may seem.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A map for the bus would be more confusing then helpful, but buses can be placed into groups, depending on what areas they cover.

Red - Covers bigger distances and operates between different cities surrounding Seoul, for example from Seoul to Suwon. The seats are more comfortable and as of lately they only accept passengers similare to the numbers of seats. This was not practiced before the covid pandemic.
The fare currently (2025) is 2,900 won.

Blue - Travel longer routes within Seoul or their city of operation. These buses also helps connect suburban, subcenter and city centers together. Fare is set on 1,500 won.

Green - Main purpose is to help to connect to other buses as well as bus to subway and the other way around. Therefor, you most likely will see green buses operate alongside similare routes of blue and yellow buses. Fares starts at 1,500 won.

Yellow - Operates in a more restriced area and more local. The buses connects through bigger bus stops and stations but also covers suburban areas. Fare starts at 1,400 won.
You may find that these buses also stops closer to attractions or public parks, as they originally where ment for tourists and locals to travel with more ease.

I hope you found this small post helpful and if you did leve a like🙂
