Located on the south east coast is the port city of Busan.
Known for not only as a large port city for import adn export but also for its many beaches, mountains and temples. One of the most well known and unique temples is the Buddhist temple Haedong Yonggunsa. Located right on the edge of the coastline.

Busan is a city like no other in south Korea. Haeundae offers a hug boardwalk down to the beach offering tons of dinning options, a traditional local market and plenty of bars.
A very laid back city although being very large, the layout of this city is very unique.
Compared to other cities, Busan is long and somewhat narrow.

The city can also be divided into two parts.
Busan station and its surrounding area. Where rustic polaroid streets meets harbour life and vintage squares and streets at BIFF.

Experience the populare Gamcheon Cultural Village which was originally a poor district with improvised dwellings, made by refugees who settled there. Consisting of people who fled to Busan during the Korean war.

Are you into seafood? Then Jagalchi fish market is the place for you. Any kind of seafood straight from the sea. You pick the fish or shellfish you wish to eat and move to the second floor and wait while side dishes and the recently picked main dish is being prepared. It doesn`t get any fresher than that.

Maybe some hiking or a coastline stroll is more your thing, then head over to Yeongdo-Gu.
An Island with coastline trails and museums waiting for you to explore.

Heading over towards Haeundae, make sure to stop by Millac The Market. Consisting of an indoor venue for smaller vendors offering a hip and trendy hangout place. Enjoy different foods, drinks or buy some accessories. This place gets packed from through the weekend, so if you want a table in the main hall, be early.
Furthermore, the outside area offers an amazing view directly to the famous Diamond bridge in Busan, and on both sides of this location, there is promenade which is perfect for a stroll and to soak in the fresh sea air.

Now, arriving at Haeundae, experience the wild sealife at SEALIFE Busan aquarium, get an amazing view from Busan X the SKY, or go for a laidback train ride along the coast at the Blue line park.

Are you on a family vacation and the kids wants to enjoy something fun? Cover a day at Lotte World Adventure Busan theme park or something thrilling like zipline or go-cart?
Skyline Luge Busan might be what you are looking for.
Best of all, both of these parks are located next to each other.

This city, like other cities in south Korea offers a broad specter of things to do. It all comes down to what you`re on the lookout for.

How to get there?
This highly depends on your travel budget and if you are looking to get there as quick as possible, comfortable or making the trip down an experience in itself.

You have the choices between:
Bus: Takes around 4 hours and can departs from Gosok Terminal( Express bus Terminal). The bus station has seen a major facelift and overhaul, which makes it that much more easier to travel from. It will probably be one of the cheaper options, but might be less comfortable then train or plane.

Train: KTX are running from early morning with several departures from Seoul station. Another train option is the SRT, which leaves from Sueso station, located on the Orange subway line. Both trains offers different times of arrival, the average time frame is 2-3 hours. There are trains spending more time on rails, which means the ticket will most likely be a little bit cheaper.

Car: If you are renting a car to drive to Busan you should expect at least 4-5 hours. This highly depends on the traffic and what time of the week as well as if there are any upcoming holidays. Example, for Chuseok and Seollal, trains, and airplane tickets are quickly sold out. Roads are packed with traffic jams.

Plane: The quickest option on the list, effective air time is 1 hour. But keep in mind the time it takes to get to and from the airport as well. Although it might be the more expensive option, keep your eyes open as there often are affordable deals. Somethimes even cheaper than train.

Is Busan worth visiting?
My personal opinion, without a doubt yes !
Especially during the hot summer months, this city almost like goin abroad. The scenery is another reason to visit this city.
Most importantly, if you wish to experience and broaden your knowledge about south Korea, you need to experience other cities then Seoul.
