Welcome! I’m Filippo Persia, an engineering manager and hands-on practitioner working at the intersection of semiconductor validation, measurement science, automation, and systems thinking.

Over nearly two decades, my work has spanned automated test, digital signal processing, high-speed interconnects, first-silicon characterization, laboratory architecture, and engineering leadership.

Today, I lead validation activities for advanced SerDes and mixed-signal silicon, where measurements extend beyond 100 GHz and a poor test strategy, misplaced priority, or delayed decision can cost far more than the measurement itself.

This experience has changed the question that interests me most. It is no longer simply:

How can we perform this test?

It is:

How can we turn expensive engineering effort into reliable decisions sooner?

I combine deep technical work with Theory of Constraints, TameFlow, Critical Chain, and data-driven decision-making.

I use Python, LabVIEW, SeaTable, simulation, and machine learning as tools—not objectives—to:

shorten validation and learning cycles;

automate repetitive work without automating waste;

protect scarce instruments and specialist knowledge;

control work in progress and expose the real constraint;

transform fragmented data into decision-ready evidence;

connect technical priorities with time-to-market and business throughput.

The value I aim to create for an engineering organization is straightforward: faster learning, better use of expensive capital and expert time, fewer projects trapped in queues, and a shorter path from first silicon to revenue.

Here, I share practical tools, models, simulations, technical investigations, and essays covering semiconductor measurement, signal processing, test automation, engineering management, and the application of TOC to knowledge work and new-product introduction.

Some contributions are highly technical. Others examine why intelligent people, advanced tools, and heavily utilized teams can still produce poor system-level flow.

All of them must pass the same test:

Can this help an engineer or manager understand the system better and make a more useful decision?

Semiconductor validation is my home ground. TOC is my management lens. Programming and data analysis are my instruments. The goal is always the flow of valuable work.
