I first heard the expression "belt and braces" from a colleague in Moray House, and she meant, "It's all very well using innovative teaching methods but you also need the basics." Or always have a backup plan.
Well, this door in my neighbourhood has taken the need for a backup plan to a whole new level. Belt, braces and a safety pin too!
