Fearby Screen Saver: your PC’s hardware as a living 3D circuit board

Oct 16, 2026

The Fearby Screen Saver is a tech-themed screen saver for Windows that draws your computer’s hardware as a glowing, Tron/Matrix-style board. It builds the board from what it detects in your machine (CPU, memory, GPU, drives, USB devices, network and more) and animates it with live data. It’s free, and you can download it here: https://fearby.com/utilities/fearbyscreensaver/

What’s in it

  1. Tour: The default view. The camera slowly circles the board, then glides in to each part (CPU dies and cache map, DIMMs, GPU, chipset, drives and so on). Each stop shows a callout with that part’s specs and live activity. Traces pulse with real CPU, disk, network and audio activity.

imageInteractive Tour: Take the controls. Tab through every detected part, zoom, rotate, tilt, and press F9 to search (“Ryzen”, “DDR4”, “USB”) and jump straight to a part.imageBlueprint mode (edit the board): A crisp blueprint look where you can rearrange the detected parts to match your own case, move and rotate them, and re-route the data lines. Your layout is saved per mainboard.

  2. Thermal view: A heat-camera look at your sensors, with glowing hot spots and rising heat particles. This one is just for fun. It uses the sensors it can read and activity-based guesses for the rest, so don’t treat it as a lab instrument.

  3. Easter egg: Flight Mode: Press F and a tiny plane takes off over your motherboard. Fly it around the board and see how it looks from the air. I’ll leave the rest for you to find.
