This afternoon at around 4pm EST, I'll be publishing an interview with Shane Kosugi, actor and stunt expert and the debut director of ninja action spy thriller, 「四十九retirees. Additionally, I will also be posting bilingual quotes on Instagram for both Western and Japanese followers and netizens.
The film stars Kansuke Asano from a concept he birthed with Kosugi, for the story of a widower whose latest task as the member of a government-imbued covert ops ninja agency gets compromised with the threat of a nuclear weapon, a dark conspiracy from the top-down, and a vengeful crimeboss looking to get even.
The film opens on Friday in Japan, while news of acquisitions or release stateside or elsewhere remains pending, but believe me when I tell you I'm doing my best to keep my finger on the pulse.
Tune in at 4pm EST today, and follow me on Instagram at @fcsyndicate.
