Living on my sheep farm brings a unique rhythm to my days. The early mornings begin with the soft bleating of sheep eager for breakfast, the air tinged with dew and promise. There is a quiet comfort in tending to these animals—feeding, watering, and caring for them, each task grounding me in the present. The changing seasons are marked not just by weather, but by the cycles of lambing, shearing, and the ever-present work that keeps the farm running.

The kitchen is the heart of my home. Here, I cook not only to nourish my body but to soothe my soul. The aroma of freshly baked bread, the bubbling of a hearty stew made with vegetables from my garden, and the sizzle of steaks on special occasions—these are comforts that help me find joy in small moments. Cooking allows me to honor traditions and create new ones, sharing meals with friends and family who visit the farm.

Preparing food is an act of love and remembrance. I often find myself recalling recipes handed down from my parents and grandparents, some scribbled on yellowing notes tucked away in an old recipe box. Cooking their favorite dishes helps me feel close to them, even in their absence, and brings a sense of continuity to my days.

Grief is a constant companion on the farm. The losses I have experienced—of loved ones, of animals that were more than just livestock—have shaped me in profound ways. There are moments when the vastness of the fields mirrors my own feelings of emptiness, but there are also moments when the warmth of sunlight or the gentle nuzzle of a lamb offers comfort.

I have learned that grief is not linear. Some days, it feels manageable, a quiet ache tucked away as I go about my chores. Other days, it overwhelms me, and the only thing I can do is allow the tears to fall. Through it all, I have discovered the importance of kindness—both to myself and to others who grieve. The farm, with its routines and responsibilities, gives me purpose and structure, helping me move forward even when the path is hard.

In these challenging times, I have been touched by the generosity of friends, neighbors, and even strangers who have offered support in many forms—be it a warm meal, a helping hand during lambing season, or donations that have helped me keep the farm running. Each gesture reminds me that I am not alone, and that community is built on acts of compassion.

To everyone who has donated, whether it was supplies, funds, or simply words of encouragement, I want to express my heartfelt thanks. Your kindness has not only eased my burdens but has renewed my faith in the goodness of people. The farm thrives not just because of my hard work, but because of your support and belief in what I do.
