I spend most of my free time making my home smarter, locally, without vendor clouds. Along the way I write opensource tools that other people can use too, and I share them all on GitHub (github.com/fapgomes).
Everything is free and open source, built in my spare time because it solves a real problem in my own house. Reverse-engineering a protocol, dealing with a quirky serial bus, or keeping up with Home Assistant releases takes evenings and weekends.
