How I got 95 Medium followers without any Instagram followers

Thank you to my 95 followers for sticking with me thus far. Making it as a Medium Partner is no easy feat if you are unpopular or non-existent on social media. It takes regular posting, reading, clapping, and following others to earn 100 followers. You may even write stuff that nobody will see.
At the time of writing this, I have 0 Instagram followers yet I was able to amass 95 followers on Medium. I need just 5 more followers in order to qualify for the Medium Partner program. It has been over 2 months since I premiered on Medium with my first poem, Status Offline, and, after publishing 16 stories, I am just 5 followers away from meeting the criteria for the Medium Partner Program. I did it all without an Instagram account.

I have decided to become active on Instagram, as I feel that I need to overcome the anxiety I have over social media and get over some underlying fears of rejection and abandonment. So I have started an Instagram under the Username ‘SteveWeldai’ and added a few pictures to start that journey.
I am looking forward to publishing more content on Medium, regardless of my Medium Program Partner status. As a note, I may peruse around and read your articles. Naturally, I can’t help but edit your work. Don’t mind me if I leave highlights and leave any number of claps on your articles. Usually I’ll comment leaving my appreciation for your creativity. I’m constantly reevaluating my following and participating in ‘unfollow-for-unfollow.’

I hope my journey serves as an example of what you can accomplish on Medium even without a large social media presence and without Medium Partner status. Except for a little bit of follow-for-follow in my early days, all of this is organic growth. Everything I have accomplished here was done from my own writing — without the help of publications.
