How to Use A Qimen Month Forecast
Start off by plotting your Qimen Natal Destiny Chart. You can use any free plotter software on the market and if this is your first time plotting a chart, you can use the software at www.typingastro.com for this purpose. It does not need to be a paid version software for this part.
Then you find your Qimen Destiny Palace. You would need to use your birth date and birth hour to plot the Qimen Destiny chart. In most software, the Destiny Palace is marked in red.
For Qimen, the 2 hour period of your birth hour matters. If the hour of birth is unknown, this Destiny Palace method cannot be used reliably because Qimen plotting uses the hour as a primary plotting mechanism.
Then you treat the Destiny Palace as the overall monthly theme.
Whilst other palaces can describe areas such as wealth or relationship, the focus is first on the Destiny Palace as the overall monthly operating theme.
When you read the incoming energy as monthly resources, as each month, different energies enters the home base of the Destiny Palace, certain options open up, while others become less available.
Use the forecast for planning. The purpose is to see what to focus on, what to avoid, what to pay attention to and how to adjust monthly actions so they support the annual objective.
Do not over read one component. A single symbol should not be forced into only one meaning. Qimen is not designed as a single component but always to read it in context and what is inside the palace and what is surrounding it.
October 2026’s Qimen energy starts with the focus on the Northwest Palace, the home palace of the Dog brings a strong influence over the month. As leading energy of the month, the Wu stem found in the Northeast also introduces other opportunities.
Whatever energy this month introduces to your own Natal Chart - based on your time and date of birth - will carry the strongest influence over that particular area of your life.
For instance if the Northwest is your “Relationship” Palace, being aware that this month carries that particular signature can help you navigate the mindset in your relationships. If this is your Career palace, look at areas around your career.
A BaZi chart would use your time and date of birth to plot your chart. In BaZi, the Day Master controls the reading of the chart. In Qimen charts, the palace that would carry the most impact would be the Destiny Palace. Your Destiny Palace sets the scene for the month, the energy you have by default. So too can the current luck cycle palace [which you can see from advanced chart readings]. Either way, wherever this is, that palace then forms the major lens or perspective through which the chart is read. Destiny Palace is the home base when you read a monthly Qimen chart. See this as a special delivery area which every month brings you more resources. Some get introduced and others are removed as time plates change every month and year.
Subconsciously all areas of life are influenced by the changed energy for the month. Why is it that last month I was thinking about this area of my life this way and this month it changed? That changing lens may explain it.
What do we pay attention to, what is best left alone and what is changing this month?

Southeast: Six Harmony, Grass Star, Harm Door

When things are said and done, and it is over, the team may all go their own and sometimes separate ways. But you still have the memories, the experience and the lessons acquired through that interaction. What are you going to do with that?
Harmony is synonymous with relationships, collaboration with others, but also “accumulation”. If this is your destiny palace, the theme is not just to talk about love, because not all of us are single. But if you are, it may be rather easy to start a new relationship journey. Beginning hexagram tells us that there is something that is possible to start. It is not the entire journey. Ding represents a “third party” in a relationship. If you are already in a committed partnership, be aware of this situation. The Grass Star is associated with higher sexual desire and your inner moral compass will have to kick in.
In business matters, the Grass represents business dealings and environments. Harm Door is a door of sales. If the company is open to looking for new partnerships, this is favorable to go out and search out for either a partner to buy you out or you go out to buy out somebody else. The third party [Ding] is available this month.
If this is your career palace, this may be an opportunity to sell yourself to other business, companies or broaden your horizons to other organizations or starting a second source of income.
Is everything great in terms of relationship or business matters? October is the month for diversification, to go out and look for what may in the future replace the current situation.
South: Great Moon, Ambassador Star, Delusion Door [Envoy]

Discretion With Wealth And Asset Exposure
Great Moon is discreet. Delusion Door is a closed door. Together with the Ambassador Star, this is showing your total assets, it is time for you to hide or protect your assets or wealth.
The hexagram of Poison changing to Rising. Poison is internal problems because poison must be consumed. The problem is created by yourself, by how the person is handling their wealth and making it visible to others. If wealth is shown openly, it can attract cheaters, freeloaders, users and people who are interested in the money rather than the person. If you want attention, then use this palace. But when the money is gone, this attention you got earlier from all these people will also disappear.
Lottery winners and people who suddenly receive money is a good example. Sudden attention can be mistaken for affection or respect, and wealth can disappear quickly when it is not protected.
The instruction is to have financial discretion. Do not show off your wealth, luxury assets or status unnecessarily. Do not flaunt it. You are attracted by others’ showing off to trap you.
Social media displays of luxury are especially dangerous because some people show wealth precisely to attract others into giving them money or joining their team.
Luxury cars, holidays, branding and sudden expansion may hide the debt, credit card pressures or the true recruitment motives.
Once assets exist, the safer approach is to keep them less visible so other people cannot easily target them. In business the same thing is done - they focus a lot on branding, opening branches, showing off what they have just to attract people, you are invited to join in, so that they can exit the scene. Do not show off what you have = you do not need others to target you.

Scenery Door tells us that something is looking good on the surface but may hide what is messy underneath. Showing off the good life but underneath it is messy.
Snake is things which are half true, which can make Snake more dangerous than Tortoise because it is harder to detect.
Snake with Destructor and Scenery Door is a manipulated market problem.
In trading terms, the combination is like a highly manipulated situation - much like in the currency exchange market, where platform providers or market makers may trade against users while presenting themselves as liquidity providers. They can play dirty tricks and that is where the Security Commissions play an important role. If a platform is not properly authorized by the relevant securities regulator, for instance if the platform is in another country and refuses your withdrawals, local legal recourse may be limited.
The hexagram of Abundance can mean abundance on paper, where the profits, the book or valuations look attractive but the underlying operation cannot truly run.
Venture capital style beautification is used as an example: books can be made to look attractive for the next valuation round so later investors buy in while earlier players exit.
The warning is be careful of a situation governed by greed. You are walking in to this situation this month. Fast return means fast debt. There may be very attractive returns, luxury displays and fast promises but it should not replace understanding of the fundamentals.
This palace describes the topography of the situation, not a fixed endpoint. It shows the kind of environment being entered so the person can act with awareness and caution.
West: 7 Star Chief, Assistant Star, Death Door

Difficult Endings And Leadership Decisions
Chief with Death Door, it means a leader must make a difficult decision about ending something. Death Door does not mean physical death by default. It means something may need to end. If the decision is easy to make, you do not need a leader to make that decision.
Assistant Star shows that information is available. The danger of leadership is making decisions in an information vacuum, but this combination of Chief suggests the information needed for a decision is present - should the situation end or should you hold on to a prolonged situation to prolong the suffering in the current scene?
The hexagram of Observation to Great Strength, says that the issue must be observed clearly and the decision may be heavy as you are given Great Strength to make the decision. Use a medical example: deciding whether to continue resuscitation or prolong suffering when the information shows the person will not recover, can you make that decision? It requires great strength on a Do Not Resuscitate medical situation. It is indeed a very difficult decision.
A business or project may be draining money and not producing results, so the leader must decide whether to close it. There may still be reasons to continue a dead end situation, such as preserving a production chain, keeping skilled workers active or supporting older employees until they are ready to leave.
The point is not that ending is always correct. The point is that the decision must be made consciously, with information and with responsibility for the consequence of holding on or stopping. This may be the norm in the industry as many people are dependent on the business continuing to run because their livelihoods depend on it, yet not turning over profits. The leader has to decide whether s/he continues with this or closes it down - but remember the consequences of this action.
Northwest: Nine Heaven, Hero Star, Fear Door

Nine Heavens with Hero is a strong combination for reputation and image building. Let people know what is happening. The Fear Door adds the feeling of fear, giddiness, over humility or the imposter syndrome. The person may feel they do not deserve the attention.
The hexagram of Opposition changing to Decreasing is a situation where at the beginning an activity may feel scary, difficult and you may resist it at the start of the activity. With repeated exposure, the discomfort decreases.
Public speaking is an example of this. The first stage appearance may be frightening, but repeated practice makes the stage feel more normal. If the person wants to build up their own brand, image, visibility or reputation, this is a good palace to start from. Accept the exposure, prepare properly and treat each chance to be seen as a chance to improve your skill level.
If this is the Destiny Palace, the person may be pushed into an uncomfortable visibility situation. The advice is to try it rather than avoid it.
North: Nine Earth, Grain Star, Open Door

In terms of Career matters, we look at the Open Door - but the Open Door means the door is open and things are invited in. This is why it is often read as many opportunities are coming in. Do you need more things to come into that area of life? Grain with Open Door means there is a lot of opportunities coming your way. Can you handle this all and have the processing power to handle it? More opportunity is not automatically better because the real question is whether the person or organization can process and filter what comes in. If you have 2000 people applying for one job, you have a filtration system problem.
When nothing is available, choice is simple. When too much available, poor filtration can lead to choosing badly or circling around in an empty car park without making a decision about where you want to park. Good or bad depends on your entire situation.
The hexagram of Unity changing to Arrival, points to a favorable or good beginning. A deal that is coming your way may be good - but it is just the starting point. Other deals may be coming in as well. The warning is not to celebrate too early. This is still only the beginning of the process.
Earth Deity is in charge of your current resources. Every opportunity must be tested against available resources, capacity and network you have available already. Do not spread yourself too thin into every single opportunity that comes your way. If it fits to your larger plan, then explore it.
Some opportunities are too large for the current league or current support system. If the resources and network are not there, the better decision may be to let the opportunity go.
The key instruction is to understand the situation, filter carefully and choose opportunities that fit the existing plan.
Northeast: Black Tortoise, Pillar Star, Rest Door

Verify rumors and stay out of the traps set by others trying to keep you small or drag you down
Black Tortoise with Pillar points to information that may be unverified, doctored, fake or not fully reliable.
Rest Door can be auspicious, but in this context it is linked with laziness or overconfidence in verifying information. This is dangerous by itself. If you do nothing [Tortoise and Pillar], it will eventually clarify itself and the truth will come to light. If you are stable and sure of what you are doing, ignore the noise.
The danger is that you may believe all the market chatter, hearsay or noisy accusations without being able to verify the source.
The hexagram of Trap changing to Gathering points to a situation where a lot of people come together, much like a crowd that may gather around a confusing story, and newer people may follow the loudest voice without understanding what happened. Don’t lend your ear to the noise. Do not participate in the noise. If the information is fake or designed to confuse, joining the fight can make the situation worse.
The better strategy is to remain stable, avoid over believing outside noise and let time clarify the truth.
This only works if the person has a strong internal constitution and knows clearly what they are doing. Otherwise the urge to defend, explain or join in can become the trap. Tortoise tells us that the situation is fake, designed to confuse you so and get you trapped.
East: Tiger, Heart Star, Life Door
Ji +Ren = Earth Net Stretched High
Time to protect and preserve your resources, time and strength in order to live to fight another day. Watch out for overextension of your debts or being too hasty with expansion
White Tiger is a situation where things are overexertended or in "overdraft" [living on debt], causing a higher level of stress.
With the Life Door, the issue moves into business management, money management and over leveraging into debt. Compare this to a market situation where people leverage a trading account, gains can multiply quickly, but losses multiply just as quickly.
The hexagram of Retreat changing to Fellowship shows us that we have to consider not moving too aggressively. Tiger pushes for aggressive movement, while Retreat advises caution and slower consideration.
The main emotional driver may be that of being impatient, not necessarily greed. There may be a visible benefit in front of you, but the desire to go fast and go big needs to be controlled. You are not in the game alone.
If this applies inside an organization, decisions should not be made alone. Speak with management, stakeholders and people affected by the decision.
If this applies to a one person business, the person can still proceed if they accept full responsibility and have the resources to carry the risk.
For advertising or campaign spending, set hard limits and assess actual conversion before increasing your advertising budget. The key warning is not to overexert money.
If you are over spending your resources, it is time to set a limit - the theme of October is to set the bottom line, what you are not able to go beyond.
