I am a veteran war correspondent and political analyst with over 35 years of experience covering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). I specialise in real-time reporting on politics, strategic and military planning, terrorism and counter-terrorism. My reporting is underpinned by strong analytical skills, providing nuanced insights into complex political situations in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Palestine and Syria.

My in-depth experience and political knowledge, combined with a vast network of contacts, provide an unparalleled insight into the region's intricacies. This makes my writings indispensable to those seeking clarity on issues that are often misreported and propagandised in the Western media.

Throughout my career, I have covered major conflicts and military clashes, including the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, the Iran-Iraq War, the Lebanese Civil War, the 1991 Gulf War, the 1992-1996 war in the former Yugoslavia, the 2003 US invasion of Iraq and its aftermath, the 2006 Lebanon War, as well as more recent conflicts in Libya, Syria, Palestine and Ukraine. Having lived extensively in Lebanon, Bosnia, Iraq, Iran, Libya and Syria, I bring a unique perspective on local cultural and tribal issues, geopolitical dynamics and the history of a region that continues to challenge its inhabitants and the world.
